Rogers Cup Women’s Tennis (WTA) tournament “canceled”

Montreal: The Rogers Cup Women’s Tennis Association (WTA), which is preparing for the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament, has announced its cancellation this year. The tour is scheduled for August 7 to 16 in Montreal, Canada. However, as part of the Corona virus campaign, the Canadian government has ordered no events until August 31. The tourney organizers have announced the cancellation of this year’s tourney.
Chess Stars donation “Rs 4 Lakh 50 thousand”

Chennai: India’s top chess players have done their best to support the fight against Corona. Grandmasters Vidit Santosh, along with former world champion Viswanathan Anand, played chess games on 20 boards online with fans of Gujarati, Adiban, Andhra Pradesh Grandmasters Pentela Harikrishna, Koneru Hampi and Dronavalli. The event was hosted by the Chess.com-India website and was donated by volunteers who played with Indian chess stars. Over the course of the tournament, the Chess Stars have amassed a total of six thousand dollars (Rs 4 lakh 50 thousand). The amount was handed over to the Prime Minister’s Aid.
